West Michigan healthcare system dealing with a surge of violence at its facilities

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Grand Rapids-based healthcare system is addressing patient violence toward healthcare workers.

Spectrum Health is reporting a surge of violence at its facilities in West Michigan.  The senior director of security at Spectrum Health Matt Brinkman says COVID-19 policies cause the most disputes.

The healthcare system has enacted several measures to increase security and awareness, including a Behind The Mask campaign to humanize healthcare workers.
