LANSING, MI — General Motors will spend three-billion dollars in Delta Township in suburban Lansing to build a new electric vehicle battery plant as well as upgrade its current factories in Lansing. Nearly two-thousand new jobs will be created in mid-Michigan with the investments.
The state approved over 800-million-dollars in tax breaks and other incentives to ensure GM built the facility in Lansing. The automaker also will spend four-billion-dollars to revamp the Orion Assembly plant for making electric pickup trucks.
