SPRINGFIELD (WKZO-AM) — A man from Calhoun County is being held for attempted murder after, according to investigators, he attacked a passenger in his car with a bottle, stabbing him in the face and chest early Monday.
Sheriff’s deputies both men were arguing while driving through Springfield. The victim, 19-year-old Lal Nei, told detectives the assailant struck him in the head with the bottle, then began using the bottle like a knife, stabbing him with the broken end.
He escaped, but needed treatment for cuts to his face and chest.
Sheriff’s deputies were able to identify the suspect after the victim gave them the man’s street name. He was located and arrested on Avenue A. Charges are pending.
