KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo Central High School senior has died of COVID-19.
According to WWMT, 17-year-old Taigan Bradford passed away on Wednesday, January 12, just months away from graduation, and that she had tested positive for COVID-19 right before Thanksgiving.
Her nearly two month battle took her to Bronson Children’s Hospital, and then onto to the University of Michigan Children’s Hospital where she was sedated after her lungs had collapsed. Taigan died shortly after her final COVID-19 test came back negative.
Her mother Omeka Bradford believes she was exposed to the virus at school, and is calling on the district to send kids home.
