GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police Chief Jim Blocker is one of three candidates in the running to be the next Police Chief in Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids City Manager Mark Washington announced the three candidates on Wednesday.
Along with Blocker, the other candidates are retired Milwaukee Police Inspector Jutiki Jackson and Chicago Police Commander Eric Winstrom.
A police chief community forum will be held next Wednesday night in Grand Rapids. Members of the public will be able to meet the candidates either in person or remotely.
Blocker has served within the Battle Creek Police Department for 25 years in various capacities. He has been the Battle Creek Police Chief since 2014.
