KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The COVID chaos at hospitals around the State of Michigan continues. State health officials say the number of hospitalized adults with confirmed COVID-19 cases in Michigan has gone back up to record levels.
According to the latest statistics from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, there were 4,197 hospitalizations as of Monday compared to 3,839 hospitalizations on December 28.
There were a then-record 4,185 hospitalizations in late November.
Statistics also show 81 percent of available hospital beds in the state are occupied as of Monday compared to 78 percent a week ago.
According to the latest statistics posted by the state, Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo and Bronson Battle Creek were both at a capacity of 95 percent.
