SEATTLE, WA (WKZO AM/FM) – The Seahawks smoked the Lions in a battle of two sub-500 teams as they defeated Detroit 51-29 in Seattle Sunday.
Russell Wilson threw for 236 yards and four touchdowns, three of which went to DK Metcalf. It wasn’t just those two lighting it up for Seattle, as Rashaad Penny rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
The Seahawks improve to 6-and-10.
Starting in place of Jared Goff, Detroit quarterback Tim Boyle threw for 262 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Lions rookie wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had eight catches for 111 yards and a touchdown and ran for a score as well.
Detroit fell to 2-13-and-1. They will host Green Bay this Sunday to close out the season.
The NFC’s road to the Super Bowl will run through Green Bay. The Packers crushed the Vikings 37-10 on a frigid Sunday night at Lambeau Field.
Green Bay clinched the number-one seed in the NFC with the victory, while the Vikings were eliminated from postseason contention with the loss.
