PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/M) — Two Portage area businesses are working together to bring relief to those impacted by last week’s tornados.
Two companies are set to host a donation drive Sunday, December 19, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Climax Solar at 7017 South Westnedge in Portage.
Requested donations include bottled water, non-perishable food, batteries, flashlights, blankets, generators, and first aid kits.
All items must be new. No used clothing or other used items can be taken.
For those unable to make it out to the drive, monetary donations will also be accepted. They can be made to Local Love Kalamazoo.
Climax Solar CEO Josh Thompson plans to match the first $10,000 in donations.
Donated items will be loaded into a truck provided by B&B Trucking. The company will then transport all donated items to the areas of Kentucky and nearby states impacted by last week’s tornadoes.
Monetary donations can be made at locallovekzoo.com.
