KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Thousands turned out for the annual New Year’s Fest in downtown Kalamazoo, with the biggest crowds gathering in Bronson Park just before midnight for the ball drop and the fireworks.
This year the ball didn’t appear to make it all the way to the bottom, stopping about two-thirds of the way down before the clock hit midnight.
There were comedians and jugglers and D.J.’s and musicians of all kinds entertaining the crowds all evening.
Where else can you see a band that looks like and sounds like the rock band “Kiss” doing their act where the altar normally stands at the First Presbyterian Church.
This year there was also some petting zoo with some big reptiles on display.
The annual festival of the arts celebrated its 30th Anniversary this year as the biggest New Year’s Eve party in Kalamazoo.
