ALBION (WKZO) — A runaway teen from the Starr Commonweath near Albion was killed when he was struck by a mini-van as he was walking along I-94 near 26 Mile early Friday morning.
Police say they don’t know if the t17-year-old from Flint was trying to flag down the van or unintentionally ran in front of it, but they are investigating.
The teen had only been missing from the treatment center for about 20-minutes before he was struck.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The impact knocked the teen out of his shoes and threw his body into the median.
The driver, a man from Indiana, suffered minor injuries.
