KEELER TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Michigan State Police are trying to track down the relatives of an older woman who was the victim of a freak accident in her own driveway in the Sister Lakes area in Van Buren County on Saturday.
A man hired to salt her driveway discovered the woman’s body trapped under her own vehicle, which was parked in the 95000 block of County Road 690.
They believe the woman, who was in her mid-60s, was in the wrong place at the wrong time when her vehicle slid on the ice and pinned her to the ground. They are trying to determine how long she may have been trapped under the car, but say it may have been hours before her body was discovered.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name is being withheld until her relatives are notified.
