KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A former Portage school teacher and coach may face new charges after being initially arrested for having sex with a student.
On Wednesday, prosecutors requested to adjourn Corey McNeal’s preliminary hearing so they could review new evidence, which may result in additional charges.
McNeal is charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for an alleged relationship with a female student that lasted two months. Until the allegations surfaced last November, McNeal, 40, had an unblemished employment record as an elementary physical education instructor and a high school basketball coach.
McNeal’s preliminary hearing will resume Jan. 20.
