BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A Battle Creek resident is recovering from smoke inhalation after rushing into a burning house on Lathrop Street early Wednesday.
Firefighters say the homeowner entered the residence, battling flames and thick smoke, to rescue their son.
While there was heavy smoke damage throughout the home, the fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the living room.
A damage estimate has been initially placed at $12,000.
The cause is being investigated.
