GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO-AM) — Police in Battle Creek called it one of the more disturbing and gruesome child pornography cases they’ve ever investigated, just because of the nature of the pictures involved.
Now the Eaton Rapids man who allegedly possessed that content will be heading to prison for the next 17 years.
Benjamin Knight was sentenced in Grand Rapids on Thursday. Once released from prison, he will be on supervised release for a decade.
His name will also be added to the state’s lifetime sex offender registry.
Initial complaints came from a patron at an adult book store in Battle Creek in December 2014. That person told police Knight was showing the pictures to patrons from his smartphone.
A follow-up investigation at Knight’s home turned up more illicit content, including photos of infants.
Knight pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge last September.
