KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — The City of Kalamazoo ended the practice of picking up discarded Christmas trees from the curbside last year because of funding issues, but they are reminding residents that they can still be dropped off at the Bank Street Farmers Market, once all the decorations are removed.
The city chips them up and uses the material for mulch at city parks and golf courses.
The trees can be dropped off at any time this month.
More possible cuts and changes to the city’s solid waste pick-ups will be discussed Monday night at City Hall when Commissioners hold a 6 p.m. workshop on the 2016 budget.
