KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo chapter of the American Red Cross is calling for more volunteers to step forward to help with water distribution in Flint.
They have already sent seven of their regular volunteers to Genesee County to help in a variety of ways with organization and the actual physical labor of getting bottled water and filters to residents.
A total of 220 Red Cross volunteers are already working in Flint.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller said they’re also organizing a water donation station. He said collections will take place at the Kalamazoo County Jail from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Art Van Furniture is also accepting unopened bottles of water for delivery to Flint at their Michigan stores.
