BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Prosecutors in Calhoun County have opted to charge a 13-year-old girl accused of stabbing a 12-year-old boy on the bus.
They say bullying was no excuse for the incident, which occurred Thursday on Spring Street near Carl Avenue.
The boy had reportedly been picking on the girl for some time and was reportedly using vulgar language when, according to police, she swung at him with the pencil, striking him in the neck.
The boy was treated and released.
Both students were both released to their parents. It’s not clear if the school district plans suspensions.
