BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A faulty lamp in a 14-year-old’s basement bedroom is being blamed for a fire that caused about $11,000 damage to a home on West Territorial Road in Battle Creek.
Nearly 20 firefighters responded to the blaze before 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The teenager was able to get out of the residence unharmed. No injuries were reported.
