KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Joseph Weeks is telling WOOD-TV that he did not kill his mother.
The former emergency medical technician denies ever having confessed to stealing drugs from an ambulance or slipping a concoction of lethal drugs into the drink of 73-year-old Evelyn Weeks.
The 55-year-old says the drugs carried on ambulances are all life-saving and he doesn’t know how to mix them to make the perfect poison, as police claim he once told a family member.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s detectives have had his mother’s body exhumed from a grave in North Carolina and will submit samples for testing this week. It could take some time before the tests are completed.
