BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A Battle Creek woman is reported in stable condition after being savagely beaten with a baseball bat.
She was transported to the Trauma Unit at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after she was allegedly attacked by a former boyfriend. It happened outside her apartment in the 600 block of Oakbrook Boulevard on Friday.
Investigators say she was confronted outside her unit at around 3:30 p.m. by the man, who reportedly struck her repeatedly in the head and stabbed her in the neck.
Police arrived and the boyfriend was arrested within minutes.
The man is being held for assault with intent to murder and is expected to be formally charged on Monday.
