VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A couple from Milwaukee had to be rushed to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after a violent collision Monday afternoon.
Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies say Jessica and Jose Cellis, both of whom are 30 years old, were westbound on Red Arrow Highway at about 3 p.m. when a vehicle shot into the intersection at County Road 681 and failed to yield to their Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle was struck with enough force in the back quarter-panel to knock it sideways.
The Suburban then rolled over several times, ejecting Jose Cellis. First responders found him in critical condition. Jessica Cellis is in serious condition.
Deputies say the at-fault driver, 21-year-old Brittany Britten of Bloomingdale, was not hurt.
