BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A Battle Creek man who was arrested for beating a pregnant woman with a broken baseball bat on Friday has been formally charged with assault with intent to murder.
Police say 26-year-old Tyrice Cannon only stopped clubbing her because a school bus rolled by.
Cannon was ordered held on $50,000 bond.
The victim, 26-year-old Carissa Demink, attended the arraignment after she was discharged from Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She is recovering at home.
