KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A 21-year-old woman was nearly killed after she stepped out into traffic early Saturday morning.
Kalamazoo Public Safety received a call about the collision in the 2600 block of West Michigan Avenue, Just west of the Traffic Circle on the Western Michigan University campus, just before 1 a.m.
They found the woman unconscious on the pavement.
Witnesses say the woman stepped out into the roadway, right in front of a Chevy Impala, and was struck.
She was loaded into an ambulance and admitted at Bronson Methodist Hospital with multiple injuries. She is listed in critical condition after emergency surgery.
The officer at the scene determined it was not the driver’s fault.
