BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A man wanted for attempted murder and aggravated assault in downstate Illinois is in custody in Battle Creek.
Police have been looking for 26-year-old Charles Collins since last September, when the alleged assault took place in Marion County, Ill.
Investigators got a tip he might be hiding out at a home on Merritt Street in Battle Creek.
U.S. Marshals, troopers with the Michigan State Police and the Battle Creek Police Department all participated in a surveillance of the home. They took Collins into custody as he was leaving the address Monday evening.
