ALLEGAN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A 45-year-old woman who let her twin borrow her car faces felony charges after the sister was involved in a fatal crash.
If convicted, Nancy Ferrier of Allegan County could spend up to 15 years in prison.
Allegan county deputies say Catherine Bender ran a stop sign at 130th and 22nd Avenue on Dec. 16, right into the path of a pickup that had the right of way. The driver of that pickup, 58-year-old John Dolegowski, was not in his seat belt and was ejected from the truck when the two vehicles collided.
Dolegowski suffered fatal injuries.
Police say Bender had a suspended license and has been charged.
They say that Ferrier is criminally liable because she let a person with a suspended license drive her car.
