NILES (WKZO-AM) — Investigators in Berrien County say the driver of a car involved in a double-fatal near Niles last weekend was legally drunk when she drove into a ravine and landed upside down in Brandywine Creek.
Toxicology tests revealed Autumn Mehl, 29, had a blood alcohol count of .14, well over the legal limit.
The two were last seen leaving Jay’s Lounge in Niles early Saturday morning. She and her passenger, 26-year-old Steven Rough, both drowned.
