THREE RIVERS (WKZO-AM) — A controversial youth sports facility in Three Rivers is now a step closer to breaking ground.
A judge earlier this week lifted a temporary injunction that blocked development of the Three Rivers Area Youth Sports Complex on 80 acres of farmland north of the city near U.S. 131 in Lockport Township.
The township wanted to make the injunction permanent after residents voiced concerns about possible traffic congestion, noise and light pollution.
The $4.1 million facility will provide homes for local baseball, football and soccer teams. It could be operational by next year.
