LAWTON (WKZO) — A boil-water advisory has been issued in the Village of Lawton until further notice.
It’s a precautionary move after two routine test samples detected the presence of E. Coli bacteria in the water, which is one more than is permitted by regulations.
Officials will be flushing pipes, applying anti-bacterial agents and conducting more tests until they meet required standards.
Until then homeowners are advised to either use bottled water, or boil any water you use for cooking, drinking or cleaning dishes for a minute before using.
