KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo County school districts are considering an extension of the current mask mandate after it expires this month.
Even though that mandate ends on December 17th, several districts in the county, including Kalamazoo, Comstock, and Portage, have stated they will continue to require the wearing of masks for students in grades K-6.
Comstock district officials have reported the smallest number of COVID cases since the school year started, with just 30 total cases involving students and staff.
Allegan County officials have not put a mandate in effect, but Plainwell Community School officials say that they have one in place until January 22nd, and will evaluate whether it will remain after that.
