KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A 14-year-old girl remains on life support after she was gunned down in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel in Texas Township on Saturday.
It was part of a shooter’s violent spree, where six were killed across three locations in the Kalamazoo area.
Gov. Rick Snyder met the child’s family on Sunday — the same day 45-year-old Uber driver Jason Dalton was jailed for the rampage.
“They were struggling with all of this, as you’d expect,” Snyder said. “To have their daughter go through this process, to be pronounced dead. Fortunately, she squeezed her mother’s hand.”
Snyder also met with a woman who was shot by the gunman in front of her three children at a townhome complex northeast of the city. She is in critical condition.
The child’s family has asked for privacy.
