KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety is learning more about the man accused of killing six people during three Kalamazoo-area shootings Saturday.
Chief Jeff Hadley says 45-year-old Jason Dalton switched vehicles after shooting a woman at a townhome complex northeast of the city.
“When he fled the scene there, he had gotten into a hit-and-run or side-swiped another vehicle,” Hadley said. “That’s when he got into that dark blue or black HHR.”
He also confirmed Dalton incriminated himself during questioning.
“I can’t give you the specific nature of the exact verbiage he used, but he did make some incriminating statements,” Hadley said.
The 45-year-old is being held without bail after being charged with six counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
