KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A group committed to ending gun violence in America met Thursday in Kalamazoo to put together condolence cards for the victims of this past weekend’s shootings.
Susan Bailey-Carman with Moms Demand Action said the group is dedicated to the effort to promote gun safety in the home. They also said they’re forming a chapter in the region.
“There are far too many children that are not only injuring themselves but injuring others because guns are not secure at homes,” Bailey-Carman said.
They are against proposals in Lansing that would allow gun owners with concealed weapons permits to carry guns into schools and churches. They’re planning a ‘lobby day’ in Lansing on April 12.
