KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — There are reports that school officials have canceled Monday classes at Loy Norrix High School because of unspecified threats made on social media.
Authorities have reportedly interviewed several students and, while they don’t consider the threats against the school to be credible, they have decided to close the school anyway just to be cautious.
Classes will go on as scheduled at other Kalamazoo Public Schools campuses.
The notification came through Facebook and not the usual, well-established channels for canceling classes, or the usual method used by Kalamazoo Public Safety or the school district to notify the media about events in the community.
