KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — WalletHub.com says Kalamazoo residents are not very good at managing their money.
The city finished in 2,212th — about 300 spots from the bottom in the website’s roughly 2,500-city survey.
They say average Kalamazoo residents have a lower-than-average credit scores, settling at around 653. Kalamazoo residents tend to make a higher number of late bill payments and are in higher amounts of student loan, mortgage and car loan debt.
Battle Creek finished 1,348th. Residents of the Cereal City made more late payments and had lower credit scores, but overall debt loads were much lower.
Cupertino, Calif., the corporate home of Apple, finished on top.
