KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo County says it’s ready for Michigan’s primary on March 8.
Clerk Tim Snow says, because it’s a presidential primary, the electorate should be ready for some deviations from normal voting protocol.
“When you go into the precincts, you’ll have to put in in writing that you want either the Democratic ballot or the Republican ballot,” Snow said. “It’s kind of like two elections going on at the same time.”
He’s also expecting an uncharacteristically strong turnout.
“Normally, it’s only in the 20 percent area, but I’m thinking we’re going to see considerably more than that next week,” Snow said
Snow says there may be lines, but they should move quickly. Polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
