KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — The Kalamazoo Wings skated on ice decorated with prayers Saturday night, and donated $2 from every ticket sale to the “Helpnow” community fund for the victims of Kalamazoo’s senseless mass shooting two weeks ago.
There was also an auction of sports memorabilia and a “We are Kalamazoo” T-shirt sale.
Sporting signs with that same slogan, the fans raised 23-thousand dollars for the cause.
The crowd also got to see an exciting game with the K-Wings beating the Utah Grizzlies 5 to 4 in overtime.
