CUMBERLAND COUNTY, KY. (WKZO-AM) — Police say a suspect in the death of a 41-year-old woman in Kalamazoo Township has died from multiple self-inflicted stab wounds after being approached by sheriff’s deputies in Kentucky.
The incident happened at around 2 a.m. Tuesday after officers received a tip that a man matching Long’s location was seen walking down a street. 43-year-old Christopher Long was wanted on an outstanding sex offender registration violation, and was considered a primary suspect in the death of Wendy Whitney.
Whitney was found on February 29th with a stab wound in front of her home on Foster Avenue. Investigators say Long used to live with Whitney.
Long died after being rushed to a hospital.
