KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Party officials say they weren’t shocked that Ohio Gov. John Kasich beat his Republican challengers in Kalamazoo County during Tuesday’s primary.
Kalamazoo County Republican Party Chairman Scott McGraw says Kasich fits the temperament of most conservatives in the area.
“Kasich is a good, moderate candidate,” McGraw said. “Trump, I don’t know where Trump is, but he certainly is garnering a lot of interest.”
Kasich also won Washtenaw County. He picked up a total of 17 delegates.
Trump cleaned up throughout the rest of the state, picking up nearly 37 percent of the vote and 25 delegates.
