KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Monday night, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) issued a warning about dangerous driving conditions throughout the city.
From 6:30 p.m., snowfall has resulted in dangerous driving conditions, the department said in a news release.
“Public Services is aware and is diligently working to salt major thorough fairs and intersections,” the release states. “Kalamazoo Public Safety is aware of numerous hills where traffic is stopped and is working to divert traffic appropriately.”
Residents are now encouraged to stay home over the next few hours if possible in order to reduce the potential for accidents.
As a reminder for winter driving, the department said to leave ample space to bring a vehicle to a safe stop, drive slowly and wear a seatbelt.
