CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A veteran is in custody after threatening a woman with a gun in a home in Marshall Township.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the residence on 15-1/2 Mile Road at about 4:35 a.m. Tuesday on a report of an intoxicated man with a gun threatening people.
The 25-year-old woman had gotten into an argument with the 32-year-old former soldier from Fort Campbell, Ky., but managed to escape before sheriff’s deputies arrived.
She told investigators the man held a gun to her chest and threatened to shoot her. He barricaded himself inside, but was talked into surrendering after about 20 minutes.
A search of the home and his motel room turned up a number of weapons.
He is being held for felonious assault and on gun felonies.
