HOWARD TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Cass County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after an 85-year-old woman rolled past a stop sign at M-60 and Reum Road in Howard Township, injuring a passenger in another vehicle.
The two-car crash happened at around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say Martha Cooper was traveling eastbound on Reum Road with her three great-grandchildren when she failed to yield at the stop sign, crashing into 62-year-old Deborah Hancock.
Hancock’s passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Cooper was also taken to a hospital with possible injuries.
Cooper’s great-grandchildren were evaluated by EMTs and returned to their mother.
According to a press release, all parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Alchohol appears to not be a factor in the wreck.
