BRUSSELS (WKZO-AM) — It’s been a tough week for Battle Creek resident Sebastien Bellin, who barely survived the terrorist bombing at the Brussels airport and has undergone four surgeries since to repair damage to his legs and hip.
But on Wednesday, it was an emotional reunion as family members arrived for the first time for a visit. He says he wouldn’t have imagined it could have happened so soon.
His father Jean and wife Sara said they got a look at that now famous photo at the same time as the rest of the world. It showed him lying on the airport floor in a pool of blood.
They say they were shocked and terrified at first.
His step-mother and two younger brothers also made the trip to Belgium to visit him in his hospital room.
He still faces a long recovery. His family says they will be there every step of the way.
