KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A four-year-old boy is dead after a rollover crash on the U.S. 131 business loop near North Westnedge Avenue.
The 24-year-old woman driving the van and her 32-year-old male passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries in the wreck, which police in Kalamazoo Township say happened after 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The man was later released from Bronson Methodist Hospital. A fourth passenger, a six-year-old boy, was not hurt.
Investigators say the four-year-old, who has not been identified, was ejected when the van failed to negotiate a curve. He was later pronounced dead at Bronson.
An autopsy has been scheduled. It’s not clear what prompted the crash.
The wreck remains under investigation.
