GRAND HAVEN (WKZO-AM) — There’s a reward available for information that will lead authorities to the person who shined a high-intensity green laser at a U.S. Coast Guard vessel near Grand Haven last weekend.
The agency says it happened at around 11:30 p.m. on March 26 as the agency was conducting a routine patrol on Lake Michigan.
The crew on the vessel was not hurt by the beam, but officials say the strikes have been known to delay search-and-rescue missions and other operations.
Fines for similar offenses can range up to $25,000.
