AUGUSTA (WKZO-AM) — A 42-year-old Portage motorcyclist is dead after being struck by a commercial van.
Police say it happened at M-96 and G Avenue in Charleston Township late Monday afternoon, as the van, which was being driven by a Battle Creek man, was attempting a left turn.
It’s the sixth motorcyclist to be struck in southwest Michigan since Friday. Police agencies are warning both motorists and bikers to pay extra attention, noting that motorcycles sometimes can be more difficult to spot than cars.
