ALLEGAN (WKZO-AM) — Allegan County Sheriff’s detectives have tracked down a pair of burglars who left a frightened woman and two dead dogs behind after they robbed her home on 118th Avenue near Fennville earlier this month.
Investigators say Michael Mills and Jamie McDonald had inside knowledge of what their victim owned and where to find it in her house.
Police claim they forced their way into her home and police say Mills held her to the floor, while his female crime partner grabbed what they planned to steal.
When the victim’s dogs tried to protect her, police say Mills stabbed them both.
Both theives were tracked down and arrested last week.
They are both being held on $100,000 bond each on home invasion, armed robbery and assault charges. Mills is also charged with two counts of animal abuse.
