PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — It’s another seasonal adjustment for drivers. Portage Police are warning motorists on on U.S. 131 to be mindful that construction will be going on along the divided highway all summer and that means there will be choke points and slowing vehicles.
They believe just such a slowdown may have contributed to a rear-end collision that sent a driver to Bronson Methodist Hospital with serious injuries.
They say the driver of a black Subaru slowed for construction and was struck from behind by a Silver Honda Civic.
Both vehicles went out of control and wound up leaving the pavement.
They say speed may have been a factor and the driver of the Honda may be cited or face charges.
