PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — At least four public schools in Portage were locked down as a precaution after 911 dispatchers fielded three calls about shots being fired near Isabelle Street, Robinswood Street and Angling Road.
The calls came in after 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Operations at Portage West Middle School, 12th Street Elementary, Amberly Elementary and Moorsbridge Elementary were affected.
The lockdowns were lifted about an hour later after an initial investigation by Portage Public Safety turned up nothing.
Officers are still checking connecting neighborhoods, according to a press release.
