KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The monthly check-up on the health of the west Michigan industrial economy shows that the numbers are “still rising,” according to Kalamazoo-based economist Dr. Brian Long.
Long said near record auto production sales will keep area parts plants at full capacity, and furniture manufacturing remains healthy. He says employment is the best it has been since the beginning of the recovery.
Long also said local businesses continue to be positive for both the short term and long term which is in sharp contrast to the way they were feeling just six months ago. He says they are a lot more confident now.
