KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Acting on tips about illegal drug sales from a vehicle parked at a local business, Kalamazoo Public Safety has taken a 27-year-old woman into custody, but not without a struggle.
Officers responded to the 3600 block of East Cork Street at about 8:30 a.m. Monday and found the suspect’s vehicle where the tipster said it would be. Investigators claim she attempted to resist, but was quickly subdued and cuffed.
A search of the car turned up components used for manufacturing methamphetamine and stolen merchandise from stores in Kalamazoo and Allegan County. The goods were valued at $500.
She may have been swapping drugs for the shoplifted items.
The suspect is being held for operating a methamphetamine lab, resisting arrest, possession of meth and receiving and concealing stolen goods.
The woman has been booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail.
